People 25-39

There are 1.5m people 25-39 living in regional Australia (32% of the national total). Generally, in this demographic segment, regional people are more likely to have families, be married/ de facto and have a household income >$50k. Additionally home ownership is higher as a result of the greater availability of reasonably priced housing.

"I spend money on my car, presents for my nieces and nephews, clothes, make-up, jewellery, all that. I spend heaps on travelling. That's where all my money goes - at least I'm having a good time."                 Tegan, aged 25 years, Dubbo

"When we moved we bought a new fridge, a new dining suite and a new lounge suite.  This house has two lounge rooms where the other house only had one.  We also splurged on a really big dining table with ten chairs because you couldn't just have a pokey little dining table in this great big area."                                                                                        William, aged 39 years, Newcastle
